Biographies

President Linda Connelly has served on the HR Condominium Board since 2008.  She has served as our President for four years and as our Secretary for five years prior to that. Linda is a retired Medical Information Technologist. As an avid life-long learner with a passion for helping non-traditional students, she has been a Literacy Volunteer since 1999. She also volunteers at the local Police Activities League (PAL) as a one-on-one mentor for at risk children.  She and her husband, Dennis, purchased their first timeshare property at Harbor Ridge in 1998, and they’ve considered Southwest Harbor their “second home.” They also own timeshares in Ireland and Cape Cod. Their vacation ownerships, coupled with their Interval International membership, have opened up incredible travel opportunities at reasonable costs. With multiple timeshare ownerships and travel experiences gathered, she vows to continue working hard to ensure that Harbor Ridge remains a premier vacation destination.

Treasurer Janet Franz has been a Week 16 owner at Harbor Ridge since September 1992 and she also owns Week 20-Even. Her family enjoys their timeshare each year at Harbor Ridge, along with some exchanging and cruising. She has served on the Harbor Ridge Board of Directors since 2003. Jan earned her Associate Degree in Business Management from the University of Maine, and then received her Bachelor’s Degree from Husson College. Jan is an accountant for the Penobscot Valley Federal Credit Union, and she assists with her husband’s property maintenance business. Jan has served as the financial secretary for the Redeemer Lutheran Church, and she has done volunteer income taxes through the VITA program. Jan resides in Bangor with her husband, Ken. They have three children and two grandchildren.

Member Amy Lytle  has spent the last twenty-five years building a professional career in the nonprofit sector. Currently, she is serving as the Executive Director of a local nonprofit in Winston-Salem, NC, where she puts her extensive experience in nonprofit governance, operations, budgeting, and board and community engagement to work in assisting approximately 500 other nonprofits in the region operate more effectively and efficiently.  As a young child, Amy lived full time on MDI, and she has spent extensive time on the island every summer since she was five. Since their first purchase pre-construction in 1994, she and her mother now co-own five Harbor Ridge weeks, and Amy is enthusiastic and knowledgeable about timesharing and the importance of maintaining Harbor Ridge’s Premier status with Interval International. She has been an active member of the Timeshare Users Group online community since 2012 (www.TUG2.com,) which is focused on educating and empowering timeshare owners. Amy has also effectively served on numerous residential HOA boards in the past, as well as serving on the boards of other nonprofit organizations, locally, nationally, and internationally. She’s excited to bring her board and nonprofit management experience, knowledge about timesharing, and dedication to making sure Harbor Ridge provides an outstanding timeshare experience for owners.

Member David Ezzio lives in Cumberland, Maine with his wife Theresa LaPlante.  With degrees from Yale and the University of Chicago, Dave became a consulting software developer bringing training and expertise to development teams around the world. He served in leadership roles in two Maine wide software industry groups. He retired in 2016.  Starting in 2009, after more than two decades of coming to MDI annually, Dave and Theresa bought four weeks at Harbor Ridge.  Harbor Ridge is a jewel on MDI and in the timeshare universe. It has and must continue to change with the times to maintain the facilities and keep pace with technology and tastes, while preserving the outstanding value offered to families.

Secretary Jay Hewett and his wife, Nancy, have been regular and enthusiastic visitors to Mount Desert Island for over 50 years. Their long-term desire to have a place on MDI was satisfied when they became owners at Harbor Ridge in approximately 2000 via the purchase of two half-weeks in October. In 2008, they added a full week 22. Like many owners, they use their weeks at Harbor Ridge rather than exchanging them for vacations to other places. Jay wants to maintain the quality and excellent value of ownership at Harbor Ridge. Jay is a retired Civil Engineer with a specialty in environmental engineering applied over a 42-year career spent mostly at the Portland Water District and at several Maine consulting firms. He has been an avid aviator since 1988, and has recently completed construction of a Sonex, kit-built airplane. The Hewetts reside in Cumberland, Maine.
